About the Role
The Center Medical Specialist performs physical examinations, reviews medical histories, and assesses donor suitability in a plasma donation center. They build rapport with donors, ensure confidentiality, and provide health education and counseling on test results.
Responsibilities
- Perform physical exams and medical history assessments
- Ensure donor and staff safety and confidentiality
- Manage adverse events and injuries
- Educate donors on health and test results
- Assist in employee training and vaccination programs
- Administer employee hepatitis vaccines
Requirements
- Certified or licensed as a Paramedic or EMT with current CPR certification
- Strong communication skills and manual dexterity
- Physical stamina and ability to work independently
- Ability to handle biological fluids and work in cold environments with appropriate PPE
- Able to perform tasks requiring standing, bending, twisting, and lifting up to 50 lbs
- Good vision, hearing, and communication skills
Work Environment
Work involves exposure to biological materials and extreme cold in plasma freezers.
