About the role
The Assistant Nurse Manager is a registered nurse supporting and collaborating with the nurse manager to lead a specific clinical unit or service.
Responsibilities
- Promote a culture of excellence through staff mentorship, performance management, and fostering teamwork.
- Support staff recruitment, retention, and professional development to ensure high-quality patient care.
- Participate in budget management, resource allocation, and apply quality improvement strategies.
- Ensure compliance with clinical standards, regulatory requirements, and evidence-based practices.
- Communicate effectively with diverse teams, mentor staff, and facilitate shared governance.
- Advance clinical competencies, support research, and implement performance improvement initiatives.
- Represent the organization positively within the community and professional organizations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Nursing.
- RN licensure (single-state or multi-state Compact) and BLS certification.
- Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience.
- Preferred: National certification in nursing administration.
