Opportunity

As a Communications Specialist (REMSA Health Dispatcher), you answer emergency medical and fire calls for service and dispatch ambulances and fire resources to locations requesting help.

Responsibilities

• Process emergency medical and fire related calls using established protocols.
• Give callers instructions to begin patient care and how to safeguard themselves until help arrives on scene.
• Sent the closest appropriate response resource to the scene.
• Communicate safety concerns involving patients and responders to determine whether or not additional precautions or equipment should be taken.

Requirements

• Prior medical or fire experience is preferred.
• All Communications Specialists must have completed or will need to complete an EMT course within 6 months of hire.
• We offer a full academy training to develop the skills and competence to successfully process calls and dispatch resources.

Qualifications

• Ability to type a minimum of 35 wpm.
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communications skills.
• Ability to multi-task, attentive to detail in various forms.
• Ability to work varied shifts (days, nights, weekends, holidays).

Skills

• Completion of EMT course within 6 months of hire.
