Responsibilities
- Receives, dispatches and records telephone and radio communications, and NCIC and LEAPS communications according to FCC and Dept. regulations.
- Dispatches vehicles to calls for assistance.
- Keeps police and fire personnel informed of all facts affecting safety or the efficiency of their responses to the call.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
- Performs typing and clerical functions.
Requirements
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- The ability to type 35 wpm.
- Public safety dispatching knowledge of E- 911 and computer aided dispatching is preferred.
Schedule
- Must be able to work any of three scheduled shifts.
- Flexibility to work overtime when necessary is an essential function of this position.
