Emergency 911 Dispatcher

Responsibilities

• Receives, dispatches and records telephone and radio communications, and NCIC and LEAPS communications according to FCC and Dept. regulations.
• Dispatches vehicles to calls for assistance.
• Keeps police and fire personnel informed of all facts affecting safety or the efficiency of their responses to the call.
• Performs all other duties as assigned.
• Performs typing and clerical functions.

Requirements

• A high school diploma or equivalent.
• The ability to type 35 wpm.
• Public safety dispatching knowledge of E- 911 and computer aided dispatching is preferred.

Schedule

• Must be able to work any of three scheduled shifts.
• Flexibility to work overtime when necessary is an essential function of this position.
