Essential Functions
- Counsels students on standardized language acquisition assessment for listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills.
- Assists teachers by providing materials and handouts to students, working with them individually or in groups on special projects or assignments.
- Maintains a testing log for record keeping and data on the administration and scoring of the assessments.
- Pre-scores and records proficiency tests using the scoring rubrics.
- Submits pre-score reports and test booklets to certified staff for review and dissemination.
- Coordinates testing schedule and materials with the Program Instructional Coach.
- Prepares room for testing, including setting up tables and chairs, and handing out materials.
- Performs cleanup after testing.
- Aids in lesson planning by sharing ideas and providing feedback about the students with whom they work.
- Ensures compliance of State and Federal laws for English Learners including file audits, testing, and small groups.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or general equivalency diploma (G.E.D.).
- Proficiently fluent in English language.
Preferred Qualifications
- One year of experience working with children.
- Valid first aide certification.

- Engaging and encouraging communication skills while interacting with supervisors, staff, students, etc. to exchange information.
Physical Requirements
- Occasionally exposed to work near moving mechanical parts and outdoor weather conditions.
- Occasionally lifts and/or moves up to 10 pounds.
- Close vision, Distance vision, Peripheral vision, Depth perception, and Ability to adjust focus.
