About the role
Under direct supervision, incumbent(s) conducts the standardized language acquisition assessment for listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills with students. Incumbent(s) provides assistance to teachers in a classroom environment by providing materials and handouts to students, working with students individually or in groups on special projects or assignments.
Responsibilities
- Counsults with teachers to plan and coordinate lesson plans by sharing ideas and providing feedback about the students with whom they work.
- Coordinates testing schedule and materials with the Program Instructional Coach.
- Pre-scores and records proficiency tests using the scoring rubrics.
- Maintains a testing log for record keeping and data on the administration and scoring of the assessments.
- Reads assessment prompts and records student verbal responses.
- Submits pre-score reports and test booklets to certified staff for review and dissemination.
- Works with students individually or in groups on special projects or assignments including reading and mathematics, language development and memorization of emergency information.
- Demonstrates skills and techniques in order to aid in student learning.
- Ensures compliance of State and Federal laws for English Learners including file audits, testing, and small groups.
- Performs cleanup after testing.
Requirements
- High school diploma or general equivalency diploma (G.E.D.).
- Proficiently fluent in English language.
- Obtain and maintain a valid Arizona Identity Verified Prints (IVP) Fingerprint Clearance Card (AZ IVP FPCC).
Preferred Qualifications
- One year of experience working with children.
- Valid first aide certification.

Salary
$16 to $19.20 Per Hour
