Elementary PBIS Coach (Vista View)

About the Role
This is a full-year, 1.0 FTE stipend position with a stipend of $2000.
All District 191 schools use the Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) system to assess, analyze, and support student behavioral needs. Outcomes from a fully implemented PBIS school system include:
- Improved academic performance
- Reduced bullying behaviors
- Improved social-emotional competence
- Improved social and academic outcomes for students with disabilities
- Decreased rates of student-reported drug and alcohol abuse
- Reduced office discipline referrals and exclusionary practices
Schools that implement PBIS have teaching and learning environments that:
- Are more engaging, responsive, preventative, and productive
- Address classroom management and discipline issues (e.g., attendance, antisocial behavior)
- Improve supports for students
- Maximize academic engagement and achievement for all students

Responsibilities
- Assists the team's implementation of the elements of PBIS
- Keeps the team on course and assesses fidelity
- Develop monthly PBIS team agenda
- Facilitate monthly PBIS team meetings
- Plan and coordinate PBIS staff training
- Ensure building PBIS signage is posted and in good condition
- Announce and follow through with student celebrations (e.g., Student of the Month, building celebrations)
- Announce and follow through with staff celebrations (e.g., Staff of the Month, staff trophies, breakfast, etc.)
- Collect, organize, analyze, and present ODR/Top 5 data/TFI/SAS
Qualifications
- MN Teaching license
- Knowledge of and experience with PBIS
- Knowledge of State, Federal, and ISD 191 School Board Policies regarding student conduct and appropriate disciplinary action
- Evidence of and ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills when working with coworkers, parents, community members, supervisor, and students
- Ability to receive feedback and adjust accordingly
- Strong work ethic and dedication to further the benefits of student participation in co-curricular activities
- Ability to perform essential job functions
