Elementary PE Coach

About the Role

Language & Literacy Academy for Learning in Winter Haven, FL is seeking a full-time Elementary PE Coach to inspire and educate students through movement, fostering confidence, character, and growth. This position follows the Polk County School Board calendar and operates from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM.

Responsibilities

• Set up equipment before class and prepare engaging, structured lessons focused on movement, fitness, and teamwork.
• Create a safe and supportive environment that encourages student development physically, socially, and emotionally.
• Demonstrate techniques, adapt activities for various skill levels, and track student progress.
• Supervise students in multiple areas, including the gym, cafeteria, and outdoors.
• Establish and enforce rules of conduct, participate in school-wide behavior programs, and document student behavior.
• Teach and enforce safety procedures, and assess student fitness levels.

Requirements

• Ability to set up equipment and prepare lesson plans tailored to different abilities.
• Experience supervising students across various environments (e.g., gym, cafeteria, outdoors).
• Demonstrated physical skills and ability to assist students during activities.
• Enthusiasm, reliability, and a passion for student growth in physical, social, and emotional domains.

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of curriculum design and ability to adapt instruction to different learning styles.
• Strong skills in delivering engaging lessons across varying ability levels.
