About the Role
Language & Literacy Academy for Learning in Winter Haven, FL is seeking a full-time Elementary PE Coach to inspire students through movement, build confidence, and foster character development. This position follows the Polk County School Board calendar and operates from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM.
Responsibilities
- Set up equipment and prepare engaging lessons focused on movement, fitness, and teamwork.
- Guide students through activities that build physical skills, confidence, and cooperation.
- Demonstrate techniques, ensure safety, and adapt activities for various skill levels.
- Track student progress and assess fitness levels.
- Supervise students in the gym, cafeteria, outdoors, and other school areas.
- Establish and enforce rules of conduct and safety procedures.
- Participate in school-wide behavior programs and document student behavior.
- Maintain a consistent, positive presence to encourage student growth physically and personally.
Requirements
- Ability to set up equipment before class.
- Create a safe and engaging environment that supports student development.
- Prepare and implement lesson plans tailored to various abilities.
- Establish and enforce rules of conduct.
- Supervise students across multiple areas (gym, cafeteria, outdoors).
- Demonstrate physical skills and assist students during activities.
- Teach and enforce safety procedures.
- Assess student fitness levels.

- Knowledge of curriculum design.
- Ability to adapt instruction to different learning styles.
- Strong skills in delivering engaging lessons across varying ability levels.
