About the role
The Electrophysiology Lab Tech position at the Heart Center is a full-time role under the direction of the Electrophysiologist and the Nurse Manager. The role involves assisting medical staff with diagnostic, interventional, and therapeutic procedures in the Electrophysiology Lab setting. Duties include monitoring and observing patients during invasive procedures, ensuring safety and efficiency, maintaining a sterile environment, assisting during emergencies, responding to patient distress, and managing equipment and inventory.
Responsibilities
- Assists in transporting patients to nursing units.
- Attends to patient needs during electrophysiology procedures.
- ECG placement, troubleshooting, and setup of Lifepack Pressure Transducer.
- Electrical cautery, flouroscopy, and stereotaxis set up and operation.
- RF generator setup and operation.
- Circulates during electrophysiology procedures.
- Prepares patient and equipment for procedures.
- Accurately documents hemodynamic, electrical, angiographic, and case progression data.
- Participates in life-saving measures such as defibrillation and cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
- Safely operates a variety of complex equipment.
Qualifications
- High School Graduate or Associate's Degree in Radiologic Technology, Cardiovascular Technology, or Vascular Technology.
- Preferred: Associates Degree in Healthcare related field, plus previous experience in a Cardiac Cath Lab, Interventional Radiology, or Electrophysiology Lab.
- Graduate of a non-accredited program in invasive cardiovascular technology, plus previous experience in a Cardiac Cath Lab, Interventional Radiology, or Electrophysiology Lab.
- 1+ years of previous experience in ICU, Cardiac, Cardiovascular technologist, first responders/EMT, radiologic technologists, ultrasound technologist, or respiratory therapy, physiology, or other relevant medical experience.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
