Electrophysiology Technician

About the role

The Electrophysiology Lab is a specialized invasive procedure suite where cardiac electrophysiology procedures are performed on patients from neonate through geriatrics. The Electrophysiology Technician is an integral part of the EP team and is responsible for operating the technical equipment used during complex EP procedures.

Responsibilities

• Assist with performance of all EP invasive and interventional procedures (EPS, ablation, PM, ICD, lead extraction, loop recorder etc.)
• Knowledge of x-ray/digital equipment
• Maintain the quality and safety of the work environment
• Provide pre- and post-op care

Qualifications

• American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS), or UC Davis Health CPR
• American Heart Association (AHA) Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
• American Heart Association (AHA) Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
• High school diploma, general education diploma (GED), or equivalent experience/training
• 1 year experience as a CVT tech – will consider course work in lieu of work experience
• Ability to perform all roles of the EP Scrub Tech.

Key Responsibilities

• Electrophysiology Technician 1: 40% - Assist with performance of all EP invasive and interventional procedures (EPS, ablation, PM, ICD, lead extraction, loop recorder etc.)
• Electrophysiology Technician 1: 40% - Knowledge of x-ray/digital equipment
• Electrophysiology Technician 1: 10% - Maintain the quality and safety of the work environment
• Electrophysiology Technician 1: 10% - Provide pre- and post-op care
• Electrophysiology Technician 2: 40% - Assist with performance of all EP invasive and interventional procedures (EPS, ablation, PM, ICD, lead extraction, loop recorder etc.) for the Adult and pediatric population.
• Electrophysiology Technician 2: 40% - Assist with performance of all EP invasive and interventional procedures (EPS, ablation, PM, ICD, lead extraction, loop recorder etc.) for the Adult and pediatric population.
• Electrophysiology Technician 2: 10% - Knowledge of x-ray/digital equipment
• Electrophysiology Technician 2: 10% - Maintain the quality and safety of the work environment
• Electrophysiology Technician 2: 10% - Provide pre- and post-op care
