About the role

Aetos Systems, Inc. is a dynamic small business where employees are heard, highly regarded, and empowered to develop their careers while solving real-world business problems. This OTV Electronic Technician position is a represented staff role with the IBEW Union.

Responsibilities

  • Install, remove, maintain, and replace serial digital closed-circuit surveillance television and webcam systems in support of spacecraft, payload, and security operations.
  • Install and maintain camera control systems for trim controls (pan, tilt, zoom, etc.).
  • Install and maintain mid-split level television and broadband communication distribution systems, including Channel 60 and Operational Television (OTV) Webpage.
  • Fabricate, maintain, modify, troubleshoot, repair, test, align, calibrate, and operate fiber optics, closed-circuit TV, head-end and distribution, high-definition and serial digital TV, switching and distribution, pressurized pan and tilts, pressurized lighting and cameras, and video surveillance systems.
  • Coordinate with other crafts to ensure job completeness and assist with troubleshooting.
  • Read and interpret work orders, drawings, schematics, and notes.
  • Provide, update, and maintain all required documentation, reports, and logs, manually or in electronic databases.
  • Make recommendations to improve work quality, efficiencies, and productivity.
  • Adhere to OSHA, NASA, Company, and customer safety requirements.
  • May assist in training others.

Requirements

  • Associate of Science or Technical Trade School in Electronics, Telecommunications, Computer Science, or related field. OR 1.5 years of related experience for each year of formal education.
  • Four (4) years of related experience OR successful completion of a State or Military-approved bona fide work-related apprenticeship program recognized by the US Department of Labor.
  • Understanding of electrical theory and ability to perform circuit diagnostics analysis.
  • Ability to read and comprehensively understand electronic schematics.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen with the ability to pass a NASA background investigation.
  • Must pass initial and random drug testing.
  • Must have and maintain a valid Florida Driver’s License.

Physical Requirements

  • Work indoors and outdoors in varying conditions, including cold, hot temperatures, high humidity, and windy environments.
  • May require special precautions, protective gear, or clothing due to potential risks such as moving machinery, chemicals, electrical hazards, working from heights, climbing ladders, or confined spaces.
  • Frequent lifting of 35–50 pounds, working on uneven surfaces, and standing for long periods.
  • Repetitive movement, bending, stooping, twisting, and working in awkward positions.
  • Exposure to distracting or uncomfortable sounds and noise levels; inadequate lighting in some work locations.
  • Ability to recognize or interpret differences in wire and cable colors.
  • Ability to receive and transmit auditory information using telecommunication or electronic devices.
  • May require working 2nd or 3rd shift.
