Electronic Technician

Technician role focused on analyzing, troubleshooting, testing, repairing, calibrating, and reworking instrumentation in one or more of the following areas: radiation detection, water quality, optical survey, communications, or air monitoring. Work relies on industry standards, engineering practices, and OEM manuals.

Responsibilities

  • Test, service, and calibrate electronic, electrical, and optical components, accessories, assemblies, and systems.
  • Troubleshoot and repair unique equipment using product information.
  • Perform quality inspections to verify functionality, appearance, branding, and completeness of accessories.
  • Work according to prescribed procedures and specifications.
  • Use calibrators, multimeters, oscilloscopes, and other equipment for general-purpose calibrations.
  • Assist in developing related methods, processes, and procedures.
  • Prepare and maintain documentation; input data into databases as required.
  • Monitor and maintain facilities and workspaces to meet professional and APTIM standards.
  • Identify parts necessary for inventory and routine repairs.
  • Maintain accurate records of equipment functionality, accuracy, and repeatability.
  • Deliver high-quality work efficiently and expeditiously.
  • Work independently with limited supervision.
  • Provide technical support using the best available technology.
  • Take and fill equipment fleet orders.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Military training or Associate’s degree in electrical/electronic field or related science with 1–2 years of technical experience, or equivalent combination of education and practical experience.
  • Commercial or military laboratory experience preferred.
  • Proven attention to detail.
  • Ability to read manuals and use computers (Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.).

Pay

Current pay range for this position is $23–$36 per hour. Compensation depends on experience, education, key skills, geographic location, client requirements, external market competitiveness, and internal equity.
