About the role

Transdev in Phoenix, AZ is seeking an Electronic Technician to bolster our team. The Electronic Technician performs all necessary repairs, adjustments, and preventive maintenance procedures to ensure effective operation of all equipment in the areas of revenue collection and processing, two-way radio communication, electronic head signs, and digital video recorders and associated equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnoses and performs repair procedures necessary to correct all reported malfunctions of farebox, money processing, radio, and electronic head sign and digital recording equipment.
  • Analyzes, cleans, and repairs all component parts relative to this equipment.
  • Performs preventive maintenance procedures to reduce the instances of repair related malfunctions.
  • Completes and submits daily reports related to repair procedures.
  • Performs road calls, on-the-road repairs, and road tests as needed.
  • Keeps assigned work area clean and organized.
  • Maintains DOT card and Class B driver license.
  • Other related duties as assigned or required.

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of experience as an Electronics Technician.
  • Must be able to comprehend parts books and maintenance manuals and accurately complete any necessary reports or other documents.
  • Mechanic’s Tool Set.
  • Must be able to work shifts or flexible work schedules as needed.
  • Subject to a DOT drug testing and physical if applicable.

Physical Requirements

  • Work outside in varying temperature, weather, and humidity conditions-100% of the job is performed outside, work alone and in remote locations.
  • Sit for extended periods (up to 6–8 hours per day); frequently walk for long distances and on possible sloped ground or slippery and uneven surfaces.
  • Push and pull objects up to 50 pounds, occasionally throughout the workday; lift material weighing up to 50 lbs. with or without assistance; occasionally bend, kneel, or crouch to files or equipment stored at ground level.
  • Withstand heavy traffic areas while performing the duties of the job; tolerate exposure to considerable amounts of dust, vehicle fumes and noise.

Pay

Position Subject to Collective Bargaining Agreement: $25.25 - $30.04/hr. (DOE)
