Electronic Technician

About the Role
Beaver Aerospace & Defense is looking for an Electrical Technician to join our Assembly team in Livonia, Michigan. In this role, you'll perform electrical assembly, wiring, testing, and troubleshooting on our products, working from detailed engineering drawings, schematics, and job specifications. You'll help keep electrical work moving accurately and on schedule so assemblies continue through production without delay.
Responsibilities
- Perform electrical assembly, wiring, and installation work in accordance with drawings, schematics, and job specifications (approx. 40% of time)
- Conduct electrical testing and troubleshooting on in-process and completed assemblies (approx. 20% of time)
- Read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and job requirements to guide assembly work (approx. 15% of time)
- Inspect and verify completed electrical work against quality and specification requirements (approx. 10% of time)
- Perform rework, repairs, and resolve production electrical issues as they arise (approx. 10% of time)
- Maintain accurate documentation, housekeeping, and clear communication with Assembly, Engineering, and Quality to support production flow (approx. 5% of time)
Requirements
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams
- Hands-on electrical wiring and assembly experience
- Proficiency using electrical hand tools and test equipment, including a multimeter
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to perform precise work to documented requirements and tolerances
- Ability to troubleshoot basic electrical and wiring problems independently
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced production environment where priorities can shift based on business needs
- Basic computer skills and the ability to learn company production documentation systems
- Willingness to complete required annual training, including AS9100 quality system requirements and ITAR/Export Compliance
Qualifications
- Aerospace and defense manufacturing experience is a plus
- Electro-mechanical assembly experience is a plus
- Soldering and/or crimping experience, along with related certifications (e.g., IPC/WHMA-A-620, IPC J-STD-001), is a plus
- Experience working within AS9100 or another regulated quality environment is a plus
- Previous electrical testing and troubleshooting experience is a plus
