Electrician Licensed E9/Electrician Master Licensed E10 (Journey/Master) - University Region

Responsibilities

• Maintain all roadway electrical devices and equipment.
• Install, upgrade, and perform routine and emergency repairs of signals, freeway lighting, and related electronic equipment.
• Inspect the work of contractors hired by MDOT to ensure compliance with specifications and electrical codes.
• Inspect preventative maintenance work of contractors and contract agencies.
• Operate vehicles with a GVWR of 26,001 pounds or more for tasks such as installing and repairing aerial traffic signal equipment, setting poles and pedestals, and installing and repairing overhead wires and cables.

Requirements

• Journeyman Electrician's License issued by the State of Michigan.
• Master Electrician's License issued by the State of Michigan.
• Commercial Learner’s Permit upon appointment.
• Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Group A with either an N or X endorsement and no air brake restrictions.

Qualifications

• High school education or equivalent.

Skills

• Knowledge of electrical codes and regulations.
• Ability to operate heavy machinery and vehicles.
• Attention to detail for maintaining electrical systems.

Pay

The salary range for Electrician Licensed E9 is $31.38 - $40.32 per hour, and for Electrician Master Licensed E10 is $31.75 - $43.30 per hour.
