Responsibilities
- Handle a variety of residential electrical tasks, including troubleshooting, installation, and repair of electrical systems.
- Diagnose issues, execute repairs or replacements, and communicate effectively with homeowners to explain problems and solutions.
- Install, repair, and maintain electrical systems, including wiring, outlets, switches, and circuit breakers, to ensure reliable operation.
- Communicate with customers to explain electrical problems, present repair or replacement options, and provide clear recommendations based on their needs.
- Perform basic wiring tasks, such as installing disconnects, whips, branch circuits, breakers, and other electrical accessories, ensuring proper connections and functionality.
- Apply knowledge of electrical codes and regulations to ensure all work is compliant with local, state, and national standards, and to maintain safety on the job site.
- Utilize a thorough knowledge of tools, equipment, and materials commonly used in the electrical trade, including their proper handling and maintenance.
- Handle physical demands of the job, such as pushing, pulling, climbing ladders, accessing attics, navigating tight spaces, driving, entering crawlspaces, pushing, carrying, pulling, using hand tools, and performing fine detail work.
- Drive, work in various environments, including indoor and outdoor settings, attics, crawlspaces, stand, walk, sit, talk or hear, both in person and by telephone, use hands to handle or feel objects or controls, reach with hands and arms, regularly stoop, kneel, bend, and crouch.
- Regularly expose to extreme temperatures both indoors and outdoors, such as heat or cold, and adverse weather conditions such as wind, rain, ice or snow.
Requirements
- Journeyman Electrical License
- 3-5 years of residential electrical experience
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- A positive attitude and a strong commitment to delivering high-quality work
- Excellent customer service skills and the ability to engage effectively with individuals at all organizational levels
- Adaptability, flexibility, and creativity as a collaborative team player
- Strong troubleshooting and critical thinking skills to address and resolve electrical issues
- The physical ability to lift to 50 lbs. as required by the job
Qualifications
- Physical requirements include lifting 50 pounds regularly and up to 100 pounds occasionally, climbing ladders, accessing attics, navigating tight spaces, driving, entering crawlspaces, pushing, carrying, pulling, using hand tools, and performing fine detail work.
- Ability to stand, walk and sit; talk or hear, both in person and by telephone; use hands to handle or feel objects or controls; reach with hands and arms; regularly stoop, kneel, bend, and crouch.
- Regular exposure to extreme temperatures both indoors and outdoors, such as heat or cold, and adverse weather conditions such as wind, rain, ice or snow.
Skills
