About the role

The Department of Technology, Management and Budget supports the business operations of state agencies through various services including building management and maintenance, information technology, centralized contracting and procurement, budget and financial management, space planning and leasing, construction management, motor vehicle fleet operations, and oversight of the state retirement systems.

Responsibilities

• Performs a full range of Electrician assignments using independent judgment to make decisions requiring the application of procedures and practices to specific work situations.
• Works in concert with other Electricians and trades to perform a full range of Electrician assignments for projects on state properties as required for maintenance, construction and remodeling.
• Utilizes a wide range of power tools and other equipment appropriate to the work.
• Provides customer service with courtesy, respect and attention to detail, works cooperatively with staff, and assures all staff are customer service oriented, expressing a positive and helpful outcome to projects and during daily interaction with tenants.

Requirements

• Journeyman electrician's license for Electrician Licensed E9.
• Master electrician's license issued by the State of Michigan for Electrician Master Licensed E10.

Qualifications

No specific education or experience is required beyond that required for licensure.

Skills

Ability to work independently, use a wide range of power tools and equipment, provide customer service, and work cooperatively with staff.

Benefits

This position may be eligible for a sign-on bonus up to $5,000. Up to $1,500 to be paid upon new hire and the remainder to be paid after satisfactory completion of the initial probationary period (12-month period).

Pay

• Electrician Licensed E9: $31.38 - $40.32
• Electrician Master Licensed E10: $31.75 - $43.30

• Special requirements, licenses, and certifications: Possession of a journey/master electrician's license. Some positions may require possession of the Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
