Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Industrial Electrician to join our maintenance team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience working with 480V three-phase electrical systems in a manufacturing or industrial environment. This role involves troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, equipment installation, and ensuring electrical systems operate safely and efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain industrial electrical systems and equipment.
- Diagnose electrical issues in a continuous manufacturing/processing environment.
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, motors, control panels, and production equipment.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, one-line diagrams, and wiring drawings.
- Bend and install EMT, IMC, and Rigid conduit.
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical equipment.
- Assist with PLCs, Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), Soft Starters, and control systems.
- Assemble and wire electrical control panels.
- Ensure compliance with NEC, NFPA 70E, and all applicable electrical safety standards.
- Identify electrical hazards and understand arc-flash safety requirements.
- Work collaboratively with maintenance and production teams to minimize equipment downtime.
- Maintain accurate maintenance documentation and complete assigned work orders.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Journeyman Electrician License.
- Minimum 5 years of industrial electrical maintenance experience.
- Strong knowledge of 480V three-phase electrical systems.
- Experience troubleshooting electrical equipment in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
- Ability to read electrical schematics and one-line diagrams.
- Experience with conduit bending and installation (EMT, IMC, and Rigid).
- Knowledge of AC/DC control wiring and AC motors.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
- Willingness to work day or evening shifts, weekends, overtime, and on-call when required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with PLC troubleshooting.
- Experience with Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) and Soft Starters.
- Control panel assembly and wiring experience.
- Working knowledge of NEC and NFPA 70E.
- Experience in food processing, manufacturing, chemical, packaging, or other industrial facilities.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb, kneel, and work from ladders, lifts, and scaffolding.
- Ability to lift up to 100 lbs.
- Comfortable working in industrial environments with exposure to heat, cold, humidity, moving machinery, and electrical equipment.
- Must wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
