Electrical Project Manager
Job Summary
The Tustin, CA office of Salas O’Brien is seeking an Electrical Project Manager with 5+ years of experience to support and manage electrical engineering projects for healthcare, institutional, science and technology, commercial, and industrial clients in Hawaii.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage electrical engineering projects from planning through design, construction, and closeout.
- Cookordination and oversight of project teams consisting of engineers, designers, and other disciplines.
- Aid in developing project scope, schedules, staffing plans, and fee estimates.
- Maintain project progress to ensure compliance with scope, schedule, and budget.
- Support technical oversight of electrical systems including power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, and low-voltage systems.
- Review drawings, calculations, models, and specifications for quality, coordination, and constructability.
- Coordinate work activities related to: Engineering and design production, Document control and QA/QC processes, Construction administration and field support, Site visits, existing-conditions assessments, and field coordination meetings.
- Prepare and assist with engineering reports, assessment reports, and Basis of Design (BOD) documents.
- Track and manage project schedules and deliverables.
- Assist with project financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, invoicing, and change orders.
- Identify project risks and collaborate with senior staff to develop mitigation strategies.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field, preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience supporting or managing electrical engineering projects.
- Experience with healthcare, institutional, science and technology, commercial, or industrial facilities preferred.
- Prior experience at a design engineering or consulting firm strongly preferred.
- Working knowledge of electrical power, lighting, fire alarm, and low-voltage systems.
- Familiarity with applicable electrical codes, standards, and design guidelines.
- Proficient in Revit, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office.
- Experience coordinating BIM models with design teams is a plus.
- EIT certification is preferred.
- LEED certification is a plus.
- PE license is a plus.
- Project Management certification (PMP) is preferred.

Compensation & Benefits
The base salary range for this position is $80,000 to $120,000. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
