About the role

This position is responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing all equipment and company assets while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures. The role includes operation and maintenance of 110, 240, and 480-volt AC motor circuits, and any other duties assigned by the Manager. You will maintain a safe electrical environment within the plant and must be willing to learn Tyson SAP software to create work orders and complete daily documentation. Strong verbal and written communication skills are required to interact with team members, producers, and drivers. Math skills are needed for work-related computations involving machinery and fluid capacities.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and promote the Tyson safety culture
  • Receive training as required
  • Perform various positions as assigned
  • Assist maintenance supervisor with personnel and equipment
  • Assign maintenance techs to equipment during process periods
  • Assist with preventative maintenance and breakdowns
  • Train maintenance techs on equipment
  • Utilize computer-based PM program to track equipment maintenance
  • Fill in for absenteeism or assist in other areas of the plant
  • Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair all equipment and company assets
  • Maintain 110, 240, and 480-volt AC motor circuits
  • Use Tyson SAP software to create work orders and complete daily documentation
  • Communicate effectively with team members, producers, and drivers
  • Perform work-related computations for machinery and fluid capacities
  • Read invoices, packing slips, and records of materials
  • Complete all required training for the job

Requirements

  • Minimum of 6 months of mechanic work experience documented in work history or graduation/student status from an industrial maintenance training program (combination of employers acceptable)
  • Willingness and ability to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Ability to lift 70 lbs periodically throughout the shift
  • Ability to work on your feet for up to 12 hours

Pay

Starting pay range: $22.00 – $31.45 per hour
