About the role
This position is responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing all equipment and company assets while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures. This position could work in any department of the feed mill.
Responsibilities
- Standing, walking, bending, stretching, twisting, climbing, pushing and pulling up to 300lb buggies, and reaching are required in all areas.
- Lifting is required in many areas (weight depends upon area).
- Working on elevated surfaces is required in some areas.
- Communicate both orally and in writing.
- Possess basic math and computer skills.
- Enter data into handheld computer system.
- Use basic hand tools, operate power tools and all automated equipment, saws, sheet metal shears, drills, grinders and ladders as needed.
- Observe the use of specialized equipment and ensure proper utilization.
- Keep machines maintained and clean.
- Work alongside contractors to ensure equipment is being properly utilized.
- Must be able to obtain powered industrial truck certification (PIT).
- Perform tasks as per Tyson and vendor evaluations to ensure machines are being operated properly.
Requirements
- Six (6) months operator experience with one employer in the previous 12-months.
- Three to five years related experience with at least three years in an industrial setting/relevant work experience.
- A High School Diploma or equivalent to include Technical or Vocational Diploma preferred, or combination of equivalent experience and education in a related field in lieu of a Diploma.
Qualifications
- Must reside in a 30-mile radius of the facility.
- Must have the ability to fabricate by welding and cutting.
- Must be able to read and write in order to follow Tyson preventive maintenance program.
- Must not own, possess, or otherwise maintain any domestic, wild or exotic fowl to be considered.
