About the role
This position is an Electrical Module Design Lead role within the Strategic Systems area at General Dynamics Mission Systems (GDMS). The role involves guiding an electrical team of 1-3 members, coordinating cross-functional teams, and developing mission-critical hardware systems.
Responsibilities
- Guide an electrical team of 1-3 members and coordinate cross-functional teams, including mechanical, software, and systems experts.
- Responsible for hardware design from requirements analysis through schematic capture, managing layout constraints, supporting PCB layout, manufacturing, integration & test, and qualification.
- Collaborate with both internal and external stakeholders to develop mission-critical hardware systems.
- Primarily support the Strategic Systems area developing fire control and launch system hardware, with opportunities to work across GDMS.
Qualifications
- Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering or Mathematics field.
- Requires 3+ years of job-related experience or a Master's degree plus 2 years experience.
- CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Department of Defense Secret security clearance is required within a reasonable period of time.
Preferred Skills and Experiences
- Circuit card design incorporating embedded processors or FPGAs.
- Working knowledge of Siemens/Mentor Graphics Tools suite and FPGA design tools.
- Circuit and PCB design knowledge.
