Electrical Design Engineer Healthcare - P2S
About the role
P2S is seeking a talented Electrical Engineer to support our healthcare studio in our Long Beach or Irvine office. This position is part of our growing team of professionals who are passionate about innovative design, collaborative teamwork, and making a real impact.
Responsibilities
- Lead and support all phases of engineering projects—from proposal development through construction completion.
- Budgeting, scheduling, planning, design, specifications, and working drawings.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to business development efforts.
- Pre-Design Engineering: review existing as-built drawings, perform field investigations, set up drawings and models for multiple disciplines, coordinate design schedules and deliverables, conduct feasibility studies, prepare schematic designs, develop single-line diagrams and load schedules, design lighting systems and controls, engineer normal, emergency, and renewable power systems, conduct Arc Flash, Short Circuit, and Coordination Power System Studies.
- Experience with low voltage building systems (Fire Alarm, Security, Voice/Data, Nurse Call) is a plus.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- Professional Engineering (PE) License required.
- Engineer-In-Training (EIT) Certification preferred.
- LEED Accreditation is a plus.
- 5+ years of engineering design and/or project management experience.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit.
- Familiarity with: California Building Code, National Electrical Code, HCAI/OSHPD standards (preferred).
- Net Zero Energy/Carbon design (a plus).
- Project management (preferred).
