Senior Electrical Design Engineer Healthcare - P2S

About the role

P2S is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer for our San Diego, CA office. This position offers a competitive salary range of $137,000-$175,000, a hybrid schedule, and the opportunity to work at an award-winning engineering firm recognized as a "Best Place to Work" for 15 consecutive years.

Responsibilities

• Pre-Design Engineering
• Field surveys for electrical systems
• Prepare site assessment reports
• Electrical schematic designs
• Power single line and riser diagrams
• Electrical calculations (arc flash, coordination, short circuit, voltage drop, load flow)
• Select lighting fixtures and power equipment
• Lighting and power circuiting design
• Fire alarm system design
• Fire alarm riser diagrams, calculations, and sequence of operations
• Enlarged plans, elevations, schedules, and details
• Understand and utilize CAD/BIM standards
• Work with different disciplines (mechanical, plumbing, telecom, civil, structural, architectural)
• Respond to RFI’s
• Review equipment submittals
• Prepare punch list reports
• Project Management
• Manage multiple large-scale projects
• Mentorship to design engineers
• Prepare proposals independently
• Develop business with new and existing clients
• Construction Administration

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering
• Registered Professional Engineer license required
• Minimum 10 years of experience preferred
• Ability to manage projects and PM experience preferred
• Lead electrical design projects and a team of design engineers
• Demonstrate project management skills
• Experience using AutoCAD, ETAP/SKM, and Revit
• Familiar with HCAI requirements
• Self-motivated, inquisitive, detail-oriented, adept at looking at underlying issues, and willing to work in a fast-paced environment
• Strong record-keeping and organizational skills
• Prior experience working on healthcare/hospitals building projects
