What You'll Do

  • Design, analyze, and optimize electrical circuits for advanced medical devices and critical-care technologies.
  • Evaluate and identify qualified replacements for obsolete or end-of-life electronic components to ensure long-term product sustainability.
  • Create, modify, and validate PCB designs supporting both new product development and sustaining engineering initiatives.
  • Lead Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) and collaborate closely with Mechanical, Software, Regulatory, Manufacturing, and Quality teams to implement design improvements.
  • Participate in prototype development, laboratory testing, pilot builds, product verification and validation, and risk assessments.
  • Partner with internal teams, suppliers, and manufacturing partners to support design transfer, fixture development, testing, and production readiness.
  • Develop and maintain clear, comprehensive electrical and system-level requirements documentation.
  • Proactively identify technical, compliance, and product performance risks and drive effective mitigation strategies.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance product quality, reliability, and engineering processes.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field.
  • 5+ years of electrical engineering experience, including a minimum of 3 years supporting regulated medical device development.
  • Strong system-level troubleshooting and diagnostic capabilities.
  • Experience working with embedded systems and electronic product development.
  • Proven success managing electrical design documentation and ECO processes.
  • Solid understanding of design controls, root-cause analysis, change management, and regulated product development environments.
  • Hands-on experience with analog and mixed-signal circuit design, including:
    • Motor control systems
    • Switching regulators
    • Operational amplifiers (Op-Amps)
    • EMC considerations
    • Wireless technologies

Preferred Experience

  • Advanced analog circuit design experience involving ADCs, DACs, motor drivers, solenoids, op-amps, and power conversion systems.
  • Experience developing products that comply with medical safety, EMC, and wireless certification requirements.
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex PCB assemblies down to the component level.
  • Familiarity with ISO standards and medical device regulatory frameworks.
  • Experience supporting long-term product lifecycle management and sustaining engineering efforts.
  • Exceptional communication and collaboration skills in cross-functional environments.
  • Self-driven problem solver capable of independently identifying root causes and implementing effective corrective actions.
