About the role
The Election Assistant II, NC - Trainer position at the Registrar-Recorder/County Clerk is responsible for conducting training classes for election workers and delivering information in a clear and engaging manner. This role also involves performing various assignments essential to the conduct of primary, general, and special elections and related election functions.
Responsibilities
- Determining course content and preparing training outlines.
- Scheduling and securing training facilities.
- Evaluating election workers and training facilities, providing recommendations for improvement.
- Driving to various training locations to conduct training sessions.
- Setting up and breaking down training equipment and materials.
- Leading trainings, orientations, and giving instructions in a group setting.
- Assisting election workers with one-on-one interactive scenarios.
- Preparing election workers on Election Day procedures, customer service, and accessibility.
Requirements
- Six (6) months of full-time experience in conducting training classes, seminars, workshops, or in video production.
- A valid California Class "C" Driver License at the time of hiring.
- Ability to lift objects over 25 pounds.
- Travel to various class locations throughout Los Angeles County.
Qualifications
- Answers questions about Election Day procedures.
- Experience in public speaking or conducting classes or trainings in a group setting.
- Possession of a valid CA driver’s license.
Skills
- Effective communication skills.
- Ability to organize and deliver training content.
- Knowledge of election processes and procedures.
