EKG Technician | Rapid City Hospital

About the role

The EKG Technician is responsible for providing quality 12 lead and 15 lead EKGs, 24 and 48 hour Holter Monitoring, Signal Average EKGs, Event Monitors, and proper editing of all Holter Monitor reports and EKGs, including outreach information. EKG Technicians also work in different areas of Cardiac Services, assisting with patient preparation for procedures and supporting each area of Cardiac Rehabilitation. The role involves collaboration with registered nurses, exercise physiologists, specialists, cardiac sonographers, other EKG Technicians, and healthcare professionals while serving patients of all ages.

Responsibilities

• Accurately screen patients prior to their arrival based on medical history and medication list to anticipate needs for EKG or ABI.
• Demonstrate knowledge and proficiency in completing vitals and EKGs.
• Perform ABI and staple or suture removals.
• Assist with non-invasive testing, including blood pressures, preparing patients for stress tests, and transporting patients.
• Complete vital signs and EKGs.
• Operate the Tracemaster EKG System daily.
• Assist nursing staff with clerical and clinical duties.
• Perform all other assigned duties.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Preferred: 1+ years of EKG/EEG/ECG experience.
• Preferred: Associate degree in a related field.

Schedule

• Full-time, 40 scheduled weekly hours.
• Requires ability to work assigned schedules and hours as determined by the department.

Pay

Starting pay rate range: $18.38 - $21.13 per hour, determined by the knowledge, skills, and experience of the applicant.
