Key Responsibilities
- Lead initiatives to facilitate factory-wide, OSHA regulatory compliance and nurture a positive culture of safety within the factory.
- Conduct job safety and hazard analyses of manufacturing operations and equipment and recommend preventative measures and corrective actions.
- Plan, conduct and administer safety-related activities such as committee meetings, training, emergency response efforts, maintain documentation, etc.
- Administration of all local, state and federal permitting and reporting (e.g., Form R, Tier II, etc.).
- Afford assistance with performing comprehensive incident investigations and follow up on closure of incident reports.
- Generate periodic reports related to routine safety and environmental matters.
- Work closely with operations and research groups to identify risks and proactively develop/ implement control methodology for these risks.
- Provide expertise and leadership in anticipation, recognition, evaluation, and control of health/safety hazards and related compliance at the site.
- Maintain monitors and audits site related activities to ensure S&H programs are being adhered to.
- Monitor employees and contractors for compliance with EHS program and training requirements.
- Partner with safety committee to drive initiatives in manufacturing plants.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupation Safety and Health preferred
- 3 – 7 years EH & S experience required
- Previous experience in a manufacturing environment
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations and familiarity with Environmental requirements
- Able to communicate in a clear and concise manner both verbally and in writing
- Able to work well with all levels of operations, human resources personnel, maintenance personnel, supervision and management under the direction of the EHS Director to meet objectives
- Must be able to successfully work with all levels of operations to achieve facility goals. Work with manufacturing plant management and safety team to achieve desired safety goals.
Safety Certifications, Licenses, Registrations and Training
- The following certifications and training, if required, will be provided by the company: Industrial Hygiene Sampling procedures, OSHA 30 Hour General Industry Certification, Demonstrated proficiency with MS Word and Excel spreadsheet applications.

- Occasionally work extended hours sitting at a computer
Work Environment
- While performing the duties of this position, the employee may be exposed to moving mechanical parts and extreme heat.
- The employee may occasionally be exposed to high places, fumes or airborne particles, caustic chemicals and vibration.
- The noise level in the production environment is usually loud.
