Responsibilities
- Oversee EHS protocols at a specific site, ensuring adherence to the highest standards of workplace safety and health.
- Conduct regular audits, provide training, and implement EHS programs to minimize risks and reduce workplace accidents.
- Maintain a safe, healthy environment for all employees.
- Collaborate with various departments and site leadership teams to support the organization’s commitment to safety.
- Demonstrate the importance of proactive measures in safeguarding the well-being of the workforce.
Requirements
- OSHA 30 required.
- Minimum 5 years prior experience working within the heavy industrial construction industry, including manufacturing, pipeline, mining, food and beverage, power, and refining environments with at least 3 years in a safety role.
- Working knowledge of OSHA regulations, standards, and other applicable codes/regulations.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to assess potential hazards and risks within operations and develop and implement strategies to mitigate them effectively.
Preferred Qualifications
- CSST or Equivalent
- MSHA Certification or background preferred.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
- Work environment outside most of the time.
- Potential exposure to extreme cold and hot temperatures.
- Limited working surfaces.
- Exposure to noise above 85 decibels and intense odors.
- Exposure to areas with limited visibility.
- Climbing up and down stairs and ladders to both get in and out of trenches and up to elevated platforms (scaffolding at significant heights).
- Lifting necessary equipment and materials 1–50 pounds, 50% of the time monthly for required tasks.
- If driving is required, a valid driver’s license and proof of insurability is required. All drivers are subject to a DMV background records search.
- This role requires compliance with all applicable safety regulations, personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements, and Loenbro's Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S) policies.
