Responsibilities

  • Oversee EHS protocols at a specific site, ensuring adherence to the highest standards of workplace safety and health.
  • Conduct regular audits, provide training, and implement EHS programs to minimize risks and reduce workplace accidents.
  • Maintain a safe, healthy environment for all employees.
  • Collaborate with various departments and site leadership teams to support the organization’s commitment to safety.
  • Demonstrate the importance of proactive measures in safeguarding the well-being of the workforce.

Requirements

  • OSHA 30 required.
  • Minimum 5 years prior experience working within the heavy industrial construction industry, including manufacturing, pipeline, mining, food and beverage, power, and refining environments with at least 3 years in a safety role.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA regulations, standards, and other applicable codes/regulations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to assess potential hazards and risks within operations and develop and implement strategies to mitigate them effectively.

Preferred Qualifications

  • CSST or Equivalent
  • MSHA Certification or background preferred.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

  • Work environment outside most of the time.
  • Potential exposure to extreme cold and hot temperatures.
  • Limited working surfaces.
  • Exposure to noise above 85 decibels and intense odors.
  • Exposure to areas with limited visibility.
  • Climbing up and down stairs and ladders to both get in and out of trenches and up to elevated platforms (scaffolding at significant heights).
  • Lifting necessary equipment and materials 1–50 pounds, 50% of the time monthly for required tasks.
  • If driving is required, a valid driver’s license and proof of insurability is required. All drivers are subject to a DMV background records search.
  • This role requires compliance with all applicable safety regulations, personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements, and Loenbro's Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S) policies.
