Edison Engineering Development Program (EEDP) - Electrical July 2027
About the Role
Edison Engineering Development Program (EEDP) is a three-year entry-level program beginning in July 2027, designed to develop and improve exciting new products in Refrigeration, Cooking, Dishwashers, Air Conditioning, and Washers & Dryers. EEDPs work closely with manufacturing and product management to integrate product designs that meet customer needs.
Participants will gain core engineering skills through assignments such as PCB design, testing, implementation, and small project management. These experiences are enhanced through advanced engineering coursework, mentoring from assignment leaders, and formal reports and presentations to senior leadership.
A Master’s Degree in Engineering is required and fully funded by the company. GE Appliances partners with a local university to provide on-site, customized classes tailored to the Edison program.
Responsibilities
- Complete at least three technical rotational assignments in various engineering positions across GE Appliances.
- Develop technical problem-solving skills through advanced coursework and hands-on experience.
- Design and implement solutions in areas such as PCB design, testing, and project management.
- Prepare and present formal reports to senior leadership.
- Pursue and obtain a Master’s Degree in Engineering as part of the program requirements.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or better in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering field.
- Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher (out of 4.0).
- Unrestricted authorization to work in the United States.
- Position is located in Louisville, KY.
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Desire and ability to continue learning.
- Commitment to a Technical Engineering Program.
- Solid analytical skills and understanding of electrical schematics and symbols.
- Competence in using electronic tools such as a soldering iron and multimeter.
- Completed two or more co-op or intern experiences prior to graduation.
