Key Responsibilities

  • Produce and revise 2D drawings and 3D models using CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Revit, Inventor, Creo or similar tools.
  • Interpret engineering sketches, specifications, and design notes to develop accurate technical documentation.
  • Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and other designers to ensure design intent is fully captured.
  • Maintain drawing accuracy through version control, documentation updates, and adherence to drafting standards ASME Y14.
  • Prepare layouts, assemblies, detail drawings, and bill of materials (BOMs) as required.
  • Conduct basic design calculations or checks to validate dimensions and tolerances.
  • Participate in design reviews and incorporate feedback efficiently.
  • Support the development of manufacturing, construction, or fabrication packages.
  • Identify design issues and propose practical solutions to improve manufacturability or constructability.
  • Ensure all work complies with company standards, industry codes, and project requirements.

Required Qualifications

  • College diploma in mechanical engineering design and/or drafting technology, or a related field
  • 2–5 years of professional experience in CAD drafting or design
  • 2-5 years of experience supporting mechanical products and assemblies in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency in at least one major CAD platform (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Revit, Inventor, Creo)
  • Strong understanding of dimensioning, tolerancing, and drafting standards (GD&T if applicable)
  • Solid knowledge of materials, fabrication methods, or construction practices relevant to Manufacturing
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks with minimal supervision
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficiency in Inventor & Creo
  • Familiarity with PDM/PLM systems (e.g., Vault, Windchill, SolidWorks PDM)
  • Exposure to simulation tools (FEA, CFD) or rendering software
  • Experience working in industries such as manufacturing, architecture, aerospace, automotive, or product design
  • Associate degree or technical certification in drafting, design technology, engineering technology, or related field

  • Create fabrication drawings with weld symbols, machining notes, and GD&T

  • Build parametric models, assemblies, and exploded views
  • Support prototyping and testing activities
