Key Responsibilities
- Produce and revise 2D drawings and 3D models using CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Revit, Inventor, Creo or similar tools.
- Interpret engineering sketches, specifications, and design notes to develop accurate technical documentation.
- Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and other designers to ensure design intent is fully captured.
- Maintain drawing accuracy through version control, documentation updates, and adherence to drafting standards ASME Y14.
- Prepare layouts, assemblies, detail drawings, and bill of materials (BOMs) as required.
- Conduct basic design calculations or checks to validate dimensions and tolerances.
- Participate in design reviews and incorporate feedback efficiently.
- Support the development of manufacturing, construction, or fabrication packages.
- Identify design issues and propose practical solutions to improve manufacturability or constructability.
- Ensure all work complies with company standards, industry codes, and project requirements.
Required Qualifications
- College diploma in mechanical engineering design and/or drafting technology, or a related field
- 2–5 years of professional experience in CAD drafting or design
- 2-5 years of experience supporting mechanical products and assemblies in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in at least one major CAD platform (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Revit, Inventor, Creo)
- Strong understanding of dimensioning, tolerancing, and drafting standards (GD&T if applicable)
- Solid knowledge of materials, fabrication methods, or construction practices relevant to Manufacturing
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks with minimal supervision
- Effective communication and collaboration skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Proficiency in Inventor & Creo
- Familiarity with PDM/PLM systems (e.g., Vault, Windchill, SolidWorks PDM)
- Exposure to simulation tools (FEA, CFD) or rendering software
- Experience working in industries such as manufacturing, architecture, aerospace, automotive, or product design
- Associate degree or technical certification in drafting, design technology, engineering technology, or related field
