About the role
In the role of Mechanical Design Coordinator, we'll count on you to:
- Cook up mechanical aspects of commercial or institutional projects
- Handle routine mechanical engineering assignments using standard techniques and procedures
- Write and edit mechanical specifications, and pick out mechanical systems and devices
- Use engineering software to calculate HVAC loads, conduct energy analyses, and choose mechanical equipment
- Create construction documents for HVAC and plumbing design of buildings, including drawings, specifications, and reports
- Work solo on small projects, or team up with more senior engineers on bigger ones
- Watch over the Mechanical CAD Technicians working on your projects, and link up design with architectural staff and other engineering disciplines
- Handle construction contract administration, including field inspections and conflict resolution
- Do other tasks as needed

- Utilize engineering software to develop HVAC loads, energy analysis, and mechanical equipment selections
- Prepare construction documents for HVAC and plumbing design of buildings, including drawings, specifications, and reports
- Work independently on small projects, or assist more-senior engineers on larger projects
- Supervise work of Mechanical CAD Technicians, and coordinate design of assigned projects with architectural staff and other engineering disciplines
- Handle construction contract administration requiring field inspections and conflict resolution
- Perform other duties as needed
Requirements
- Master's degree in Architectural Engineering with Mechanical emphasis and Engineer in Training (EIT) certificate (candidates hired without their EIT will have the title of "Designer" and will be expected to obtain their EIT for career progression)
- Healthcare, Science and Technology and/or Civic facilities experience
- Experience and/or interest in sustainable design/LEED (desired but not required)
- Previous experience with an architectural/engineering or engineering consulting firm
- Local candidates preferred
- Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering
- Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office, Trane TRACE or similar software, and equipment selection software)

The expected compensation range for this position depends upon skills, experience, education, and geographical location. (Stated benefits are for full-time regular positions. Temporary and part-time roles are eligible for limited benefits.)
