Responsibilities
- Assists in maintaining department supplies and equipment
- Completes procedures as ordered by physician
- Checks and documents vital signs, including temperature, blood pressure, pulse rates, respiratory rates, pulse oximetry readings, and weight
- Performs simple dressing application and maintains clean technique as ordered by physician
- Obtains, labels, and transports specimens as assigned
- Answers patient call lights to ensure timely responses and reports patient/family needs or observations to appropriate staff
- Escalates any needs requiring intervention to the RN or Physician
- Aids in identifying reportable cases, such as abuse and infection control
- Removes soiled linens and replaces as needed
- Ensures proper disposal and cleaning of malfunctioning equipment
- Attends meetings, in-service programs, and serves on hospital committees as assigned
- Provides education to improve health outcomes and involves patients and families in care decisions
- Supports discharge instructions provided by the Physician and directed by the RN
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- 6 months of Emergency Room/Urgent Care Technician experience or work in an EMT-B, EMT-I, or EMT-P related position
- Current American Heart Association Certification for Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers
- EMT - Emergency Medical Tech certification

Pay
Base pay for this role generally starts at $28.84 - $37.08 per hour, with final salary determined based on a variety of factors including internal equity, experience, education, specialty, and training.
