About the Role

The ED Tech Level I is a multi-skilled caregiver supporting Registered Nurses by providing safe, age-appropriate patient care and technical procedures in the Emergency Department.

Responsibilities

  • Obtain and document vital signs
  • Perform 12-lead EKGs and bedside blood sugar testing
  • Provide superficial wound care, oral suctioning, and splint application
  • Instruct patients on safe ambulation with crutches
  • Operate cardiac and pulse oximetry monitors
  • Transport patients, supplies, and medications
  • Ensure patient areas are stocked
  • Monitor patients in restraint/seclusion
  • Perform aseptic procedures, including urethral catheterization, sterile tray preparation, dressing changes, and phlebotomy
  • Manage telesitter carts, troubleshoot connectivity, and respond to escalation needs
  • Recognize and communicate arrhythmias
  • Maintain equipment and ensure compliance with safety and policy standards

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • BLS certification
  • Effective communication skills
  • Computer proficiency
  • Team-oriented mindset
  • Skilled in vital sign measurement
  • Demonstrated initiative and collaboration to support patient care and safety
