ED Tech - Days

About the Role

The Emergency Department (ED) Tech Level I is a multi-skilled caregiver working under the supervision of a Registered Nurse to deliver safe, age-appropriate patient care.

Responsibilities

• Obtain vital signs, perform 12-lead EKGs, and conduct bedside blood sugar tests
• Provide superficial wound care, oral suctioning, splint application, and patient instruction on safe ambulation
• Perform aseptic procedures, including catheterization, sterile tray preparation, dressing changes, and phlebotomy
• Operate cardiac monitors and transport patients, supplies, and medications
• Monitor patients in restraint/seclusion and maintain a safe environment
• Stock equipment and supplies, perform environmental rounds, and respond to telesitter escalations
• Demonstrate effective communication, computer proficiency, teamwork, and self-motivation

Qualifications & Skills

• High School Diploma or GED
• Certification in BLS or ARC-BLS
• Effective communication skills
• Proficiency with computers and obtaining vital signs manually
• Knowledge of medical equipment and procedures
