About the role
OC Parks has an exciting opportunity for a Marketing Manager (Administrative Manager I). This is a management position that works closely with the OC Parks Public Affairs and Communication Program.
Responsibilities
- Manages, leases and licenses park system assets for revenue development, recreation opportunity enhancement within the intent of the OC Parks Mission and goals
- Provides direction to the Public Affairs Manager and staff
- Expands opportunities for recreation at all OC Parks facilities
- Increases interpretive, recreation programming throughout the system in alignment with the business strategies
- Enhances non-tax and fee-based revenue opportunities as appropriate to the mission
- Fosters partnerships with social sector organizations where synergies would benefit and enhance the OC Parks and Orange County brand
- Manages the OC Parks brand and identity across all service and business units
- Creates an integrated approach to marketing to enhance and manage the entire customer service chain
- Develops all external publications & advertising copy
- Reviews internal publications before distribution
- Identifies market potential of new service and partnering opportunities as well as recommending positioning and market strategies based in research and analysis
- Determines customer needs by leading formal or informal market research projects and incorporates results into marketing plans
- Develops and leads the creative direction for new services that better meet our customers' needs
- Plans, organizes, coordinates and executes assigned projects to ensure accomplishment of financial/budgetary goals and optimum allocation of resources
- Participates in regional and local meetings, customer/partner visits, trade show presentations; and other promotional events as required
- Performs other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Five years of progressive experience in marketing, communications, and public relations
- Experience in quantitative and qualitative analysis to assess marketing and promotional program effectiveness
- Expertise in stakeholder management, project management, presentation development and delivery, conducting marketing research & developing reports, development & implementation of a marketing plan that integrates all internal and external customer services providers, development & coordination of public relations and promotional activities, development & coordination of information services activities, demonstrated depth of experience in market research and statistical analysis for market research and analysis
- A valid California Driver’s license, Class C or higher may be required by date of appointment
Qualifications
- BA/BS in Business, Economics, Marketing or related discipline; MBA preferred
- Strong background in stakeholder management, project management process, presentation development and delivery, conducting marketing research & developing reports, development & implementation of a marketing plan that integrates all internal and external customer services providers, development & coordination of public relations and promotional activities, development & coordination of information services activities
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects in the marketing portfolio
- Ability to work cross-functional boundaries internal organizational stakeholders as well as external leaseholders, licensees, partners, social sector organizations and other government agencies
- Ability to analyze, understand and interpret market research and other data for customer management
- Ability to participate at the senior management level
