ECE Paraeducator - 4 hrs/day (Preschool-Las Palmas)

About the role

Assists one or more Early Childhood teachers in the education, care, supervision, and instruction of pre‑school aged children, in classrooms, common areas, and playgrounds at a center dedicated to pre‑kindergarten children, and in the community. Maintains and prepares classroom and related environments, materials, and control of forms. Assists in developing play‑oriented curriculum.

Responsibilities

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• 6 college units of Early Child Development, Early Childhood Education, or a related field with emphasis on infant to preschool‑age children.
• Successful completion of at least 48 college credit units or passage of a competency assessment (Paraeducator Proficiency Exam).
• One year of experience in a preschool age enrichment program or child care setting (preferred).
• Valid driver’s license (may be required).
• CPR/First Aid certificate with pediatric endorsement.
• Required documents: copy of transcript showing 6 ECE units, CPR/First Aid certification, proof of HS graduation (diploma, transcripts, or GED), NCLB compliance (48 college units or pass the Paraeducator Proficiency Exam), resume demonstrating required experience.

Pay

Salary: $19.61 – $25.94 per hour in 9 annual steps; placement based on relevant experience.
