Paraeducator III - 6 hrs/day (Las Palmas)

About the role

Performs specialized instructional support to individuals and groups of Special Education or Severely Handicapped students. This position applies to those who have been trained and who are integrating significant para‑professional health care services or behavior interventions with instructional support.

Location: Las Palmas Elementary. Work Year: 182 work days/year. Employee Type: Full‑Time. Application Deadline: 9/28/2026.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialized instructional support to individuals and groups of Special Education or Severely Handicapped students.
• Integrate significant para‑professional health care services or behavior interventions with instructional support.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 48 units of college credit hours that are degree eligible.
• One year of experience working in a classroom environment with special needs students.
• Additional college coursework may substitute for some experience.
• Additional experience in instructional support or health care may substitute for some post‑secondary education.
• May require a valid driver’s license.
• Requires a valid First‑Aid card and CPR certificate.
• CPR/First Aid Certification.
• NCLB Compliance (48 college units or pass the Paraeducator Proficiency Exam).
• Proof of HS Graduation – High School Diploma, transcripts, or equivalent (e.g., GED).
• Resume providing clear evidence of required experience.

Pay

Salary: $22.11 – $29.22 per hour in 9 annual steps. Salary placement is based on experience.
