Performs specialized instructional support to individuals and groups of Special Education or Severely Handicapped students. This role applies to those trained in integrating significant para-professional health care services or behavior interventions with instructional support.
Responsibilities
- Provide specialized instructional support to Special Education or Severely Handicapped students.
- Integrate para-professional health care services or behavior interventions with instructional support.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 48 units of college credit hours that are degree eligible.
- One year of experience working in a classroom environment with students who have special needs.
- Additional college coursework may substitute for some experience.
- Additional experience in an instruction support or health care environment may substitute for some post-secondary education.
- Valid First-Aid card and CPR certificate.
- NCLB Compliance: 48 college units (semester) or pass the Paraeducator Proficiency Exam.
Qualifications
- Valid driver’s license may be required.

Pay
$22.11 - $29.22 per hour in 9 annual steps. Salary placement is based on relevant experience.

- 182 work days/year.
