Performs specialized instructional support to individuals and groups of Special Education or Severely Handicapped students. This role applies to those who have been trained and are integrating significant para-professional health care services or behavior interventions with instructional support.
Responsibilities
- Provide specialized instructional support to Special Education or Severely Handicapped students.
- Integrate para-professional health care services or behavior interventions with instructional support.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 48 units of college credit hours that are degree eligible.
- One year of experience working in a classroom environment containing students with special needs.
- Additional college coursework may substitute for some experience.
- Additional experience in an instruction support or health care environment may substitute for some post-secondary education.
- Valid First-Aid card and CPR certificate.
- NCLB Compliance (48 college units or pass the Paraeducator Proficiency Exam).
- May require a valid driver’s license.

Pay
$22.11 - $29.22 per hour in 9 annual steps. Salary placement is based on relevant experience.
Schedule
6 hours/day; 5 days/week. 182 work days/year.
