Eble Ice Arena - Attendant / Concessionaire
Work Schedule
This position is intended to work year around, 10-15 hours per week. Must be able to work nights, weekends, and some holidays.
Example of Duties
- Watches over ice skaters (on the ice, while skating), ensuring safe activity
- Assists with skate lessons and scorekeeping
- Passes out and cleans skates
- Sells beverages and snacks
- Operates POS cash register and adheres to cash handling policies
- Maintains safe working conditions and sanitary work area
- Performs basic cleaning (sweeping, mopping and trash removal)
- Provides great customer service
- Interacts with customers and coworkers in a pleasant and professional manner
- Performs other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
Essential Knowledge and Abilities
- Ability to skate
- Ability to accurately count and handle money
- Knowledge of basic food safety and handling
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions
- Ability to work independently or in a team environment
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing, including providing excellent customer service
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working and public relations with co-workers, supervisors, and the public
- Ability to effectively interact with sensitivity with persons from diverse cultural, socioeconomic, educational, racial, ethnic, and professional backgrounds, and persons of all ages and lifestyles
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, squat, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, push/pull, and lift up to 10-20 lbs. on an occasional basis
Minimum Training and Experience Requirements
- 15 years of age
- 8th grade education
- Some recent cash handling and customer service work experience
