Eble Ice Arena - Attendant / Concessionaire

Work Schedule

This position is intended to work year around, 10-15 hours per week. Must be able to work nights, weekends, and some holidays.

Example of Duties

• Watches over ice skaters (on the ice, while skating), ensuring safe activity
• Assists with skate lessons and scorekeeping
• Passes out and cleans skates
• Sells beverages and snacks
• Operates POS cash register and adheres to cash handling policies
• Maintains safe working conditions and sanitary work area
• Performs basic cleaning (sweeping, mopping and trash removal)
• Provides great customer service
• Interacts with customers and coworkers in a pleasant and professional manner
• Performs other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

Essential Knowledge and Abilities

• Ability to skate
• Ability to accurately count and handle money
• Knowledge of basic food safety and handling
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions
• Ability to work independently or in a team environment
• Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing, including providing excellent customer service
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working and public relations with co-workers, supervisors, and the public
• Ability to effectively interact with sensitivity with persons from diverse cultural, socioeconomic, educational, racial, ethnic, and professional backgrounds, and persons of all ages and lifestyles
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, squat, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, push/pull, and lift up to 10-20 lbs. on an occasional basis

Minimum Training and Experience Requirements

• 15 years of age
• 8th grade education
• Some recent cash handling and customer service work experience
