Naga-Waukee Ice Arena - Attendant / Concessionaire
About the role
The Waukesha County Park System is seeking dedicated, innovative, and genuine individuals to join their team as an Ice Arena Attendant/Concessionaire. This position offers opportunities to serve the community, protect natural resources, and thrive on unique challenges.
Responsibilities
- Watches over ice skaters (on the ice, while skating), ensuring safe activity.
- Assists with skate lessons and scorekeeping.
- Passes out and cleans skates.
- Sells beverages and snacks.
- Operates POS cash register and adheres to cash handling policies.
- Maintains safe working conditions and sanitary work area.
- Performs basic cleaning (sweeping, mopping and trash removal).
- Provides great customer service.
- Interacts with customers and coworkers in a pleasant and professional manner.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Must be 15 years of age.
- Some recent cash handling and customer service work experience preferred.
Qualifications
- Ability to skate.
- Ability to accurately count and handle money.
- Knowledge of basic food safety and handling.
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
- Ability to work independently or in a team environment.
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing, including providing excellent customer service.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working and public relations with co-workers, supervisors, and the public.
- Ability to effectively interact with sensitivity with persons from diverse cultural, socioeconomic, educational, racial, ethnic, and professional backgrounds, and persons of all ages and lifestyles.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, squat, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, push/pull, and lift up to 10-20 lbs. on an occasional basis.

Pay
The salary range for this position is $11.33 - $15.76 per hour.
Schedule
This position is intended to work year around, 10-15 hours per week. Must be able to work nights, weekends, and some holidays.
