Job Summary
e-Learning Specialists UOnline is seeking an Instructional Designer to join a collaborative team that designs and develops high-quality online courses for the University's expanding online portfolio. This role involves partnering with faculty to create effective learning experiences that align with learning outcomes.
Responsibilities
Partner with faculty and subject matter experts to design engaging online courses aligned with learning outcomes.
Develop instructional materials including modules, assessments, and learning activities.
Apply best practices in online pedagogy, accessibility, and universal design for learning.
Review and revise existing courses to improve organization, alignment, accessibility, and learner experience.
Collaborate with video and quality assurance teams to meet launch deadlines.
Maintain productive working relationships with faculty, staff, and program stakeholders.
Support project planning and timeline management across multiple concurrent projects.
Communicate proactively when errors or issues arise during course production.
Integrate appropriate learning technologies to strengthen engagement, accessibility, and instructional effectiveness.
Conduct needs assessments to evaluate and confirm learning objectives.
Develop training materials, knowledge base articles, and user support resources for faculty and staff.
Perform preliminary quality assurance reviews on course content and production.
Minimum Qualifications
Requires a bachelor's (or equivalency) + 6 years or a master's (or equivalency) + 4 years of directly related work experience.
Master's degree in a relevant field preferred.
Experience with Canvas and Kaltura.
Experience writing tutorial and support documentation.
Experience with web-based content management systems.
