eLearning Specialist
About the role
The eLearning Specialist role is a hybrid eLearning design and technical instruction position. The eLearning Specialist is responsible for all aspects of instructional design including graphics, video production, and editing, and additionally demonstrates strong capabilities in instructor-led classroom teaching and web-based (virtual) training. They manage eLearning projects through an entire life cycle, including managing necessary meetings and communication, within provided timelines. They work closely with the technical training team in Information Services (IS), as well as with other departments, to assist in the design, development, and implementation of eLearning training solutions. They translate needs analysis and functional specifications into detailed course designs. Finally, they conduct quality assurance testing on all training materials created, including loading, testing, and evaluating programs in the Learning Management System.
Responsibilities
- Manage eLearning projects through an entire life cycle, including managing necessary meetings and communication, within provided timelines.
- Work closely with the technical training team in Information Services (IS), as well as with other departments, to assist in the design, development, and implementation of eLearning training solutions.
- Translate needs analysis and functional specifications into detailed course designs.
- Conduct quality assurance testing on all training materials created, including loading, testing, and evaluating programs in the Learning Management System.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Education, Learning Technology, or a related field; equivalent experience will be considered.
- 3+ years of experience in instructional design or eLearning development, preferably in a professional services or corporate environment.
- Proven in-person and/or virtual teaching experience to live audiences at any level (primary, middle, secondary, collegiate, adult).
- Experience designing technology-focused training for diverse adult learners.
- Proficiency with common eLearning authoring tools (e.g., Articulate 360, Camtasia, Captivate) and multimedia development software.
- Proficiency in graphic design, audio, and video editing tools.
- Proficiency in integrating artificial intelligence tools and methodologies to enhance instructional design and teaching effectiveness.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Strong project management, communication, and stakeholder collaboration skills.
- Ability to translate complex concepts into clear and practical learning materials.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Qualifications
Prefered Qualifications:
- Experience working in a law firm or professional services organization.
- Familiarity with legal technology platforms (e.g., document management systems, time and billing software).
- Familiarity with Learning Management Systems.
- Experience supporting IT training initiatives or working within an IT department.
