About the role

Food and food-service delivery drivers fulfill a critical role in the country’s food supply chain. Our delivery drivers ensure customers’ products arrive at their destination on time and in good condition, while building lasting relationships as the face of our company.

Responsibilities

• Drive a tractor-trailer or straight truck on intrastate and interstate local, over-the-road (OTR), shuttle, overnight, and drive-and-drop routes to deliver and/or unload food and food-related products to customers safely and on time, in accordance with DOT regulations.
• Perform all required safety checks (pre/post-trip inspections) of tractor/truck and trailer per DOT regulations and company safety standards; report safety issues or needed repairs.
• Follow all DOT regulations and company safe-driving guidelines; immediately report safety hazards.
• Inspect trailer for properly loaded and secured freight; perform count checks and verify customer invoices.
• Complete all required paperwork accurately and legibly.
• Deliver customer orders according to the predetermined route schedule; unload products and transport items into designated customer storage areas.
• Perform damage control checks, scan items, and contact supervisor about removing orders as needed.
• Verify delivery of items with the customer and obtain proper signatures; collect payment (cash or checks) where required.
• Load customer returns onto the trailer and secure trailer doors; ensure tractor, trailer, and freight are appropriately locked and secured.
• Unload damaged goods and customer returns at driver check-in and complete necessary paperwork.
• Unload equipment and materials, remove trash from trailers, and perform general housekeeping duties.
• Complete daily records of hours of service and enter logs in accordance with federal, state, and company requirements.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• 6+ months of commercial driving experience with tractor trailers.
• Valid CDL-A license.
• Must be 21+ years of age.
• Meet all state licensing and/or certification requirements (where applicable).
• Clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) for the past 3 years.
• Pass post-offer drug test, criminal background check, and road test.
• Attain or have a valid current DOT Health Card or be able to secure one.
• Able to hand-lift and use equipment (e.g., two-wheeler, lift gate) to move and stack product cases/freight weighing 10–90 pounds throughout the shift.

Schedule

• 3 dispatches per week.
• Must be comfortable with 2+ overnights per week.

Pay

$75,000+ per year.
