About the role
The Driver is responsible for driving a tractor-trailer or straight truck on intrastate and interstate local, over-the-road (OTR), shuttle, and overnight and drive-and-drop routes to deliver and/or unload food and food-related products to customers safely and on time, in compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations. The role involves professional communication with customers, vendors, and coworkers, functioning as a team member, and performing any assigned duties to best serve the company.
Responsibilities
- Perform all required safety checks (pre/post trip), including inspections of tractor/truck and trailer according to DOT regulations and company safety standards; report safety issues or needed repairs.
- Follow all DOT regulations and company safe driving guidelines; immediately report safety hazards.
- Inspect trailer for properly loaded and secured freight; verify counts and customer invoices.
- Complete all required paperwork accurately and legibly.
- Drive to and deliver customer orders according to predetermined route schedules; unload products and transport items into designated customer storage areas.
- Perform damage control checks, scan items, and contact supervisor about removing orders as per company policy.
- Verify delivery with customers and obtain proper signatures; collect payments (cash or checks) where required.
- Load customer returns onto the trailer and secure trailer doors; ensure tractor, trailer, and freight are appropriately locked/secured.
- Unload damaged goods and customer returns; complete necessary paperwork.
- Unload equipment and materials, remove trash from trailers, and perform general housekeeping duties.
- Complete daily records of hours of service and log entries in accordance with federal, state, and company requirements.
- Secure all equipment and complete all necessary paperwork at the end of the shift.
Requirements
- High School Diploma/GED or equivalent.
- Valid CDL-A.
- Must be 21+ years of age.
- Meet all state licensing and/or certification requirements (where applicable).
- Valid current DOT Health Card or ability to secure one.
- Able to hand-lift and use equipment (e.g., two-wheeler, lift gate) to move and stack product cases/freight weighing between 10–90 pounds throughout the shift.
Pay
Drivers can earn $1,300 guaranteed weekly pay (must meet requirements). Sign-on bonus of $5,000. Potential monthly bonus up to $1,600.
