About the role

The Manitowoc DOW Skillbridge Program (CraneBridge) provides military service members within 180 days of separation with training to become Shop or Crane Technicians at Manitowoc.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain various crane equipment including mobile cranes and boom trucks.
  • Learn about crane terminology, technology, setup, operation, and schematics.

Requirements

  • Must be an Active-Duty Service Member within 180 days of separation date.
  • Obtain unit commander written authorization and approval to participate in DoD Skillbridge Program.
  • Meet minimum qualifications based on the job description of the role accepted.

Qualifications

  • A High School Diploma or GED is preferred.
  • Experience as a general laborer or yard worker within the construction or heavy equipment area is preferred.
  • A mechanical background and related experience with electrical and hydraulics is preferred.
  • Must be a self-starter with the initiative to advance.
  • The ability and desire to provide excellent customer service is essential.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.

Health & Safety Requirements

  • Perform job functions in a safe manner.
  • Wear all Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required by Company policy for the job being performed.
  • Know and follow established job-specific and facility-wide safety and health procedures and rules.
  • Actively participate in safety and health training and demonstrate competency based on training received.
  • Bring safety and health issues, unsafe acts, and safety suggestions to management’s attention or correct those you can.
