DOW Skillbridge Program - Crane Technician
About the role
The Manitowoc DOW Skillbridge Program (CraneBridge) provides military service members within 180 days of separation with training to become Shop or Crane Technicians at Manitowoc.
Responsibilities
- Inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain various crane equipment including mobile cranes and boom trucks.
- Learn about crane terminology, technology, setup, operation, and schematics.
Requirements
- Must be an Active-Duty Service Member within 180 days of separation date.
- Obtain unit commander written authorization and approval to participate in DoD Skillbridge Program.
- Meet minimum qualifications based on the job description of the role accepted.
Qualifications
- A High School Diploma or GED is preferred.
- Experience as a general laborer or yard worker within the construction or heavy equipment area is preferred.
- A mechanical background and related experience with electrical and hydraulics is preferred.
- Must be a self-starter with the initiative to advance.
- The ability and desire to provide excellent customer service is essential.
- Must possess a valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.

- Perform job functions in a safe manner.
- Wear all Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required by Company policy for the job being performed.
- Know and follow established job-specific and facility-wide safety and health procedures and rules.
- Actively participate in safety and health training and demonstrate competency based on training received.
- Bring safety and health issues, unsafe acts, and safety suggestions to management’s attention or correct those you can.
