About the role
The Donor Call Center Coordinator RN at Baylor St. Luke's Medical Center plays a crucial role in the transplant process. This position requires a Bachelor's of Science in Nursing and three (3) years of relevant experience, preferably in acute care, ICU, dialysis units, or transplant settings. Applicants must hold a current RN license in Texas.
Responsibilities
- Review medical information, schedule testing, review results, and compile data for patient cases.
- Notify consultants, prepare for and participate in physician-led and multidisciplinary rounds, and communicate with patients, families, and all involved disciplines.
- Maintain effective communication.
- Initiate and oversee all pre-op and post-op education, collaborating with nursing staff to provide a comprehensive teaching plan.
- Initiate and collaborate in research protocols, journal articles, abstracts, and patient education material.
- Screen potential donor calls; coordinate and organize all aspects related to donor/recipient status at the time of transplant. Handle 24-hour call responsibilities for both donor calls and outpatient issues. Triage calls, initiating appropriate treatment/intervention as required.
Requirements
- Bachelor's of Science Nursing
- Three (3) years of experience, preferably in acute care, ICU, dialysis units, or transplant settings
- Registered Nurse license in Texas

Pay
The posted compensation range for this position is $39.18 - $58.28 per hour, reflecting the company's reasonable estimate of what it might pay for this role based on current circumstances. Final compensation will vary based on experience and qualifications.
Schedule
This role is available on a PRN (Per Diem) basis, with hours varying according to patient demand. The shift is variable, and the position does not offer remote work options.
