Key Responsibilities

  • Aid in the creation, maintenance, and updates of BOMs, including processing Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) and Product Change Orders (PCOs).
  • Develop, revise, and maintain CAD drawings using Autodesk tools (AutoCAD/Inventor preferred).
  • Create detailed part, assembly, and line drawings for prototype and production use.
  • Record dimensions, fabrication methods, and storage locations within drawings.
  • Maintain accurate and organized engineering drawing files across all product lines.
  • Generate and issue CAM files for CNC and plasma cutting equipment.
  • Create optimized part nesting layouts to improve material usage and minimize waste.
  • Support new product development by documenting prototype builds, monitoring design implementation, and capturing changes required prior to production release.
  • Afford assistance in ensuring product compliance with NMMA, ABYC, and USCG standards and regulations.
  • Contribute to the documentation and tracking of new product designs and engineering changes.
  • Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned by the Engineering Manager or Supervisor.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Proficiency in CAD software (Autodesk AutoCAD and Inventor preferred).
  • Working knowledge of bills of materials and engineering documentation processes.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and general engineering-related software tools.
  • Continuous Improvement commitment to maintaining a clean, organized workspace and contributing to ongoing process improvement initiatives.

Preferred Qualifications & Certifications

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Engineering Technology, Drafting/Design, Manufacturing Technology, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in an engineering documentation, drafting, or manufacturing support role (marine or transportation industry preferred).
  • Experience with Product Data Management (PDM) or Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems.
  • Familiarity with CNC machining, plasma cutting processes, and nesting software.
  • Working knowledge of marine industry standards (NMMA, ABYC, USCG regulations).
  • Autodesk Certified Professional (ACP) in AutoCAD or Inventor.
  • Certification in CAD drafting/design or equivalent technical training.
  • Lean Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement training (e.g., Six Sigma Yellow/Green Belt preferred).
  • Basic understanding of ERP systems and manufacturing workflows.
